New on DriverWell: Meet RoadMate AI, Expanded Resources & Your Printable Cab Card
We've been busy building new tools to support you on the road. Here's everything that's new — from an AI chat companion to a printable helpline card for your cab.
Keeping You Supported on Every Mile
We know the road can be tough. Long hours, isolation, and the pressure to keep going - it all adds up. That's why we've been working hard to make DriverWell even more useful for you. Here's what's new.
Meet RoadMate AI - Your 24/7 Chat Companion
The biggest addition to DriverWell is RoadMate AI, a supportive chat companion built specifically for HGV drivers. Whether you're parked up at a services feeling low, or just need someone to talk through a tough day with, RoadMate is there.
What makes it different:
- It understands the unique pressures of life on the road - shift patterns, time away from family, fatigue, loneliness
- Your conversations are saved, so you can pick up where you left off
- It detects crisis language and immediately surfaces emergency helpline numbers
- Six suggested prompts to get you started if you're not sure what to say
RoadMate isn't a replacement for professional support - but it's a good first step when you need to get something off your chest. You'll find it in the main navigation, or tap the purple chat button in the bottom-right corner of any page.
Export Your Conversations
Sometimes it helps to share what you've been talking about with a GP, counsellor, or someone you trust. You can now download any RoadMate conversation as a plain text file or a branded PDF - ready to print or email.
Look for the download icon in the chat header when you have an active conversation.
Expanded Emergency Resources
Our Emergency Help page has grown significantly. We've added several new organisations:
- Grassroots Suicide Prevention - suicide prevention training, resources and campaigns
- Stay Alive App - a free pocket suicide prevention resource with safety planning tools
- Lighthouse Charity - free 24/7 emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support, plus their helpline (0345 605 1956) now appears as a dedicated crisis line card
- Andy's Man Club - free peer-to-peer support groups for men, every Monday 7–9pm across the UK
- Hub of Hope - the UK's largest mental health support directory, helping you find local services by postcode wherever you are on the road
Organised for Easier Scanning
With more resources comes the need for better organisation. The Online Support section is now grouped into four clear categories:
- Crisis Chat - Samaritans Webchat, CALM Webchat
- Suicide Prevention - Grassroots, Stay Alive App
- Peer Support - Andy's Man Club, Lighthouse Charity
- Self-Help & Information - Mind, PTSD UK, Hub of Hope
Each category has its own icon and label so you can find what you need quickly, even when you're not in the best headspace.
Printable Cab Card
This one's simple but important. You can now download a printable PDF with every helpline number on it - designed to be kept in your cab. It's A4 landscape with large, clear numbers in a grid layout, plus a red 999 emergency banner at the top.
Print it, fold it, stick it on your dash. You'll have help at hand before you even need to unlock your phone.
Find the download button on the Emergency Help [blocked] page.
What's Next
We're not stopping here. We're always looking at ways to make DriverWell more useful - whether that's connecting RoadMate to your mood check-in data, adding more charities, or building tools that help you look after yourself on the road.
If you've got ideas or feedback, we'd love to hear from you. This platform is built for drivers, by people who care about drivers.
Stay safe out there. You're not alone on this road.
